Charles assists attorneys in litigation matters, from the initiation of the case to its conclusion, often going to trial.  He performs document reviews, fact research, drafting of case chronologies, deposition preparation, database maintenance, and trial preparation, including design of trial presentation graphics, as well as presentation of evidence in the courtroom utilizing electronic presentation software and hardware.

  • 2018 – 3-week arbitration regarding a labor dispute between a university and its former head basketball coach.
  • 2016 – 6-week trial in Benton County Superior Court, Kennewick, WA, regarding unlawful termination of employee of contractor at the Hanford nuclear reservation.
  • 2013 – trial in King County Superior Court, Seattle, WA. Contractual dispute regarding ownership title of retail establishment.
  • 2006 – permitting dispute before the Washington State Shorelines Hearing Board, Olympia, WA., regarding the permitting of a dock for shipping materials from a re-opened gravel mine on Vashon Island, WA.
  • 2005 – 3-month trial in Benton County Superior Court, Kennewick, WA, regarding unlawful termination of pipefitters at the Hanford nuclear reservation.
  • 2003 – 5-month anti-trust trial in Superior Court in Anchorage, Alaska. This multi-defendant trial regarding the salmon processing industry was the second largest trial in Alaskan history.
  • 11/1999-1/2000 – 3-month Arbitration in Reston, VA regarding costs of constructing the nation’s largest radiographic telescope.
