About Lisa

Joining the Arete Law Group in an of counsel role, Lisa brings with her over 30 years of litigation experience. Lisa has practiced primarily in complex civil and commercial litigation, including complex commercial disputes, trade secret cases, unfair competition cases, class action defense, and contract disputes. Lisa has also represented both plaintiffs and defendants in employment law cases in state and federal courts.

Lisa understands that successful litigation requires a unique blend of in-depth knowledge of the law and facts of each case plus the ability to see and understand a case from multiple perspectives – i.e. through the eyes and priorities of the client, as well as the opponent, the judge and the jury. By understanding these multiple perspectives, a litigator is better able to present the client’s story persuasively and to obtain the best resolution for the client, whether through a negotiated resolution or through trial. Lisa also understands that every client and case is unique and requires an open mind and creativity in understanding and resolving each client’s specific litigation needs.

Outside of her legal practice, Lisa founded and helps run the Alliance for International Women’s Rights, an international women’s rights organization that supports women leaders in developing countries. Lisa is an avid traveler and has lived and worked in Mongolia and Thailand and traveled throughout Asia, Europe, Africa, Russia, the Middle East and North America. Lisa also enjoys attending her son’s cello performances and sports competitions and helping with homework.
